During 2008, AMVETS Post 88 has participated in 4 parades and 7 events.
Post 88's award winning Color Guard host the Pearl Harbor Day Observance each year at the Long Island Veterans Cemetery in Pinelawn. The Color Guard proudly represents our Veterans at National Holidays, Community Events, Flag Retirement ceremonies, State and Community dedications.

AMVETS Post 88s, Jim Santangelo, and Dick Cote are representatives
at the Long Island National Veterans Cemetery at Pinelawn, located in Farmingdale, New York.
Northport Veterans Hospital Visits
VAVS Volunteers from Post 88 join Commander Jack Maxwell as AMVETS hosts a monthly Bingo awarding Commissary Books as prizes for the patients at the Northport VAMC Nursing Home. Refreshments are served. Periodically throughout the year, craft, model, and personal care kits (Male & Female) are distributed, barbecues and Holiday parties hosted.
Wall of Honor at Eisenhower Park Veterans Memorial Grounds
Peter Ridam is the Monument Committee Secretary, veterans have the opportunity to have their names placed on the 'Wall of Honor' located in Eisenhower Park. The cost for each name is $100. and is long lasting tribute to all those who served in the Armed Forces of the United States.
